| NEW HAVEN The City of New Haven has over 124,000 residents. George W. Bush was born in New Haven while his father George Bush was a student at Yale University. Karen and Richard Carpenter grew up in the Morris Cove area of New Haven on Hall St. New Haven is known for its geographic features including a large deep harbor, East Rock and West Rock, three rivers (Mill River, West River, Quinnipiac River), and many diverse neighborhoods. New Haven has many architectural landmarks. New Haven is enriched in history and the second largest municipality in Connecticut. Residents of New Haven enjoy the five miles of beach at Lighthouse State Park with its views, carousel, Lighthouse, watersports, and smooth sandy beach.
