I have resided in Bay View for over half a century. I am a full time resident of Bay View. Once you live in Bay View, you will not want to leave Bay View. My family was first introduced to this community as young children. We have always called it home.
Bay View is a beach community situated on Long Island Sound nestled between Pond Point and Point Beach. The 600 feet of private beach owned by the Bay View Improvement Association is retained for the use of the property owners and their guests. Over 300 families are members of the Bay View Beach Association which is managed by an elected Board of Governors consisting of five members, a Clerk and a Treasurer. The Clerk and Treasurer are appointed by the Board of Governors. The Bay View Beach Improvement Association was incorporated on April 20, 1921. Bay View has a private sandy beach, community Green, and so many memories for so many. There are activities for all ages including story hours, Magic Shows, readings, land races, movies, the Women's Luncheon, and the annual 4th of July Parade.
If you ever lived in Bay View, you may remember the Chinese Auctions, Land Races, Swimming Races, Diving Competition, Bug Juice, building sand castles, sailing, and the sense of community. You may have even ventured off to Charles Island in search of buried treasure.
